Skyline Medical Center, a Top 100 HCA hospital in the greater Nashville, TN area, is seeking an experienced Adult Psychiatrist to join an established single-specialty group of 6 physicians and 1 NP at Skyline Madison Campus.
 
Qualified Candidates:
·         Expertise with trauma and/or PTSD (specifically related to military combat) is preferred.
·         Responsible for treating co-occurring disorders on a 19-bed adult behavioral unit (“Warrior Wellness Unit” for active duty soldiers with addiction, relationship, PTSD, depression and other behavioral issues. 
·         Practice Specifics:
·         Practice setting is primarily inpatient
·         Group located at behavioral health campus in Madison, TN
·         Consults at med/surge campus (10 minutes away) for a week every 7 weeks
·         Shared call arrangement with group of 6 + 1 community physician
·         There are no ER call requirements

Responsibilities
 
 
The Nurse Manager has responsibility for supporting the Nurse Director and Clinical Nurse Leader in the implementation of the vision, mission, plans and standards of the organization and nursing services within their defined areas of responsibility. Responsible for coordination and implementation of patient care on a daily basis incorporating multidisciplinary rounds where applicable into practice. Works with staff, physicians and patients to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. Uses proposed standards of care and evidence-base practice in caring for patients and ensures that staff are following these practices. Meets the organizational goal for satisfaction of patients, physicians and nurses.  Ensures that action plans are developed and implemented related to nursing sensitive quality indicators and other performance improvement measures. Demonstrates the ability to make rapid decisions critically affecting patients, units, departments and organization as a whole. Empowers staff in decision making. Manages recruitment, interviewing of prospective candidates, selection, retention, staffing, scheduling and assigning in collaboration with Nurse Director. Meets monthly with new hires during the probationary period. Is responsible for the completion of performance evaluations, developmental plans and disciplinary action of staff.  Accountable for performance evaluations with input from the Clinical Nurse Leaders. Evaluates quality and appropriateness of healthcare delivery for assigned areas.  Ensures that action plans are developed and implemented related to quality of care concerns and appropriate reporting is completed. Participates in the performance improvement process affecting organizational outcomes. Ensures that action plans are developed and implemented related to nursing sensitive quality indicators and other performance improvement measures.  Ensures action plans are completed. Provides visible ¿direct leadership¿ on the assigned units and is a communication liaison between the Director and the staff.  Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration. Ensures in the successful implementation, utilization and integration of technology.  Knowledgeable in the technology for the specific department. Creates and sustains a Magnet culture including ongoing reporting and initiatives.
 
Qualifications
 
 
Baccalaureate Degree required. Ability to meet competencies in the assigned area /clinical unit; strong communication and interpersonal skills; Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams; Knowledge of the quality improvement/research process.  Leadership experience. New York State Registered Professional Nurse License required. Ability to utilize hospital related email and scheduling programs, Excel, Power Point, Intra-net and inter-net programs. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively to all levels of the organization, patients and families. Certification in clinical specialty preferred. Certification in Nursing Administration when eligible. Works in a high pressured and rapidly changing environment. Maintains poise in stressful situations. Lifting demands, ranging from thirty to fifty pounds.  Weight limit may be increased during patient transfer and transport. Requires physical demands from walking and standing 75% of the time. Exposed to blood and body fluids as in OSHA Category 1 tasks. Hearing and vision corrected to normal.
